Bird’s Nest Removal – from £80

Birds’ nests can block a chimney completely, preventing smoke and fumes from escaping and creating a serious carbon monoxide risk. They are most commonly found in unused or rarely used chimneys.

This service includes:

  • Safe removal of bird’s nests and debris from the flue

  • Full chimney sweep following nest removal

  • Smoke evacuation check to confirm the flue is clear and drawing correctly

  • Visual inspection of the flue and appliance

  • Advice on fitting a bird guard to prevent future nesting

  • NACS certificate issued on completion

Bird’s nests are only removed when no active nesting is present, in line with UK wildlife law. (September - Febuary)

CCTV Chimney Inspection – £15 (after sweep only)

CCTV chimney inspections are available only after a full chimney sweep and are charged as a £15 surcharge.

The inspection is carried out once the flue has been cleaned to ensure:

  • Clear visibility of the flue condition

  • Accurate identification of defects or blockages

  • Reliable advice based on the true state of the chimney

Any findings will be explained clearly, and advice given where issues are identified.

CCTV inspections cannot be carried out on unswept chimneys.

Sundries & Minor Repairs

During a chimney sweep, minor issues are sometimes identified that can be rectified on the spot. Subject to condition and customer approval, the following sundries and small remedial works can be carried out.

Available sundries include:

  • Replacement fire bricks

  • Vermiculite replacement or top-up

  • Rope seal replacement (stove doors, glass seals)

  • Re-cementing flue joints where minor deterioration is found

Important information

  • All sundries are charged separately from the chimney sweep

  • Prices depend on materials required and time involved

  • Any work will be explained and agreed before proceeding

  • This service covers minor repairs only — structural issues or major defects will be advised on but not undertaken

Minor remedial works are carried out only where safe and appropriate and do not replace the need for specialist repairs if major defects are found.

New Owner’s Appliance & Chimney Check - From £60

This service is designed for customers who have recently moved into a property and want peace of mind that their chimney and solid fuel appliance are safe and in good working order.

During the visit, we will carry out a full chimney sweep along with a comprehensive visual inspection of the appliance, flue system, and chimney structure. We check for blockages, soot build-up, tar deposits, and any signs of damage or improper installation.

We will also assess ventilation, check the condition of seals, firebricks, and glass (where applicable), and ensure the appliance appears to meet current safety guidelines. Smoke draw tests may be carried out to confirm the chimney is functioning correctly.

You will receive clear feedback on the condition of the system, along with honest advice on any maintenance, repairs, or improvements that may be needed.

A certificate of sweeping will be issued on completion for your records and insurance purposes.
