Terms and Conditions

Phil Craske Chimney Sweep

By booking a service with Phil Craske Chimney Sweep, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Services Provided

Phil Craske Chimney Sweep provides chimney sweeping, inspection, and related services for domestic properties. Services are carried out to industry standards and in accordance with NACS guidelines where applicable.

2. Appointments & Access

Customers must ensure safe and clear access to the fireplace, stove, flue, and roof access points (if required) at the agreed appointment time. Pets should be secured, and fragile or valuable items removed from the work area.

If access is not possible or conditions are unsafe, the appointment may be cancelled or rearranged, and a call-out fee may apply.

3. Blockages, Nests & Obstructions

If a blockage is suspected or identified (including bird nests, debris, or compacted soot), every reasonable effort will be made to clear it within the allotted appointment time.

However, blockages caused by known or suspected nests may not always be removable during a standard sweep. If the blockage cannot be safely or fully removed within the allotted time, a revisit or additional work may be required, which will be quoted separately.

No guarantee is given that all blockages can be removed in a single visit.

4. Limitations of Sweep

A chimney sweep reduces the risk of chimney fires and improves appliance efficiency but does not guarantee that a chimney or flue is free from defects, leaks, or future blockages.

Any faults or concerns identified during the sweep will be verbally advised where possible, but it is the customer’s responsibility to arrange further investigation or repairs.

5. Cancellations

Cancellations should be made with as much notice as possible. Missed appointments or late cancellations may incur a fee to cover time and travel costs.

6. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work unless agreed otherwise in advance. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of booking.

7. Liability

All reasonable care is taken while working in your property. Phil Craske Chimney Sweep will not be held liable for:

  • Pre-existing damage or defects

  • Hidden flue faults or structural issues

  • Damage caused by unsafe, non-compliant, or poorly installed appliances or chimneys

Liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.

8. Use of Certificates

Sweep certificates are issued for insurance and maintenance purposes only and do not constitute a full structural or compliance inspection.

9. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
